Shingles vaccinations Posted or Updated on 22 Nov 2023

On the news on TV this week, the new shingles vaccination programme was launched. This will include patients over 60. However, what was not made clear, was that this will be in yearly cohorts - over the next 5 years.

This year those turning 65 after 01/09/23 or turning 70 after 01/09/23 will be eligible - but only after their birthdays. The practice will be running monthly clinics to cover these immunisations. Patients will be contacted after they become elgible to book into the clinics.

So - please be patient - we will contact you, don't contact reception to ask to be booked in in advance of being invited as they will not be able to assist you.
