We will issue repeat prescriptions at the doctor’s discretion. This is normally for patients on long term treatment. Repeat prescription requests can be made in writing or by coming to the surgery when we are open. You can also request prescriptions via the NHS App, see below. Sorry, but to avoid mistakes, we cannot take prescription requests by phone.
You can only order items on your repeat prescription list. We will not issue any other requests.
We are unable to take orders or issue prescriptions at weekends, public holidays or out of normal surgery hours.
Allow 48 hours before collection and make allowances for weekends and public holidays.
Give exact drug names when ordering.
Enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you want us to post your repeat prescription back to you.
If you want it sent directly to a chemist, please mark the request clearly to show this.

Dispensing
We have provision to dispense prescriptions to Istead Rise and Shorne patients who live more than one mile from a chemist. The Health Service Regulations on this matter are very strict and this service can only be offered to those patients who register as dispensing when they join the practice or move house. For further information, please telephone the surgery and a member of our dispensary staff will be pleased to answer your enquiries. The practice also offers a delivery service for housebound dispensing patients, with deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays. During the COVID 19 National Emergency, the practice is also providing deliveries to patients who have been advised they are in the High Risk Shielding Group, where they have no family, friends or carers who can collect medicines from the surgery on their behalf.
