Flu Vaccinations Posted or Updated on 21 Aug 2024

This year, the Government have decided that immunisation, cannot commence until early October, in order to achieve maximum protection from the vaccine.

 

Therefore, the practice flu clinics will be running as follows:

 

Saturday 5th October 2024

 

1.    Istead Rise Surgery, Worcester Close, Istead Rise, GRAVESEND, Kent Da13 9LB – walk in clinic – 0900 - 1130

 

2.    St Barnabus Church, Tile Kiln Lane, Joydens Wood, Bexley, DA5 2BB – walk in clinic – 0900 - 1130

 

These clinics are for:

 

-      Patients over the age of 65

-      Patients aged 18-64 with conditions that place them in the clinical risk groups (long term conditions such as Chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, such as severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or bronchitis, Chronic heart disease, such as heart failure, Chronic kidney disease at stage three, four or five, Chronic liver disease, Chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson’s disease or motor neurone disease, Learning disability, Diabetes, Splenic dysfunction or asplenia, A weakened immune system due to disease (such as. HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment), Morbidly obese (defined as BMI of 40), All pregnant women (including those women who become pregnant during the flu season),Immunocompromised individuals and household/close contacts  of immunocompromised individuals, People living in long-stay residential care homes or other long-stay care facilities where rapid spread is likely to follow introduction of infection and cause high morbidity and mortality, Carers, All health and social care staff.)
